Jackson County Woman Sentenced for False 911 Call

Tuesday, September 10th, 2019 -- 12:24 PM

-A Jackson County woman charged with making a false 911 call and starting a fire in a home.

Back in April, police received a call about someone being hit by a car at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Black River Falls. When officers arrived, they couldn’t locate anyone and a review of the surveillance video showed the Kennesha Funmaker had made the call. Later, the department received a call of a structure fire. Funmaker was at the home and started the fire while the homeowner was away.

During her court appearance on Monday, Funmaker was found guilty of false emergency 911 call and criminal trespass to a dwelling. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 1 year of probation.
