Local Members of National Farmers Union Attending Legislative Fly-In

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Two dozen Wisconsin members of the National Farmers Union are among several hundred producers attending the group's fall legislative fly-in this week.Participants are expected to discuss key agricultural topics with their elected officials, including the dairy crisis, the ongoing trade war, consolidation in agriculture and more. Advocates from across the country will also campaign for policies that strengthen the farm safety net, reduce chronic overproduction, help farmers and ranchers implement climate smart practices, restore competition to the agricultural economy, resolve ongoing trade disputes, and expand the market for homegrown biofuels.
Some farmers-members representing the Wisconsin delegation in our area include Bryce and Max Luchterhand of Unity and Erin Elsner of Medford.
