Governor Evers Not Tipping his Hand on Special Election

Friday, August 30th, 2019 -- 7:46 AM

(WRN) -Governor Tony Evers isn't tipping his hand on when a special election for Sean Duffy's house seat will be held.

Evers spoke with the media following an event in Beaver Dam on Thursday, saying he's waiting on advice from his legal team. The governor added that he's not looking for a date that benefits one part or another, instead a date that works for the voters of the 7th District. Some have speculated that the election could be held between mid-October and early November.

Evers adds that he doesn't have a specific timeline on when a decision will be made, but does hope to have one soon. Duffy is leaving the seat to spend more time with his family ahead of the birth of his ninth child, who will require extra medical attention. ML WSAU
