Greenwood City Council Hears Presentation from Express Disposal

-The Greenwood City Council heard a presentation during the appearances portion of their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, a proposal from Express Disposal was provided. It included costs for dual carts, weekly pickup of garbage and bi-weekly pickup of recycling. It was stated they would like feedback from residents regarding the size of the cart, either 65 or 95 gallon. Dumpster would also be provided for city parks and the treatment plant, along with carts for city hall and the garage. The five year contract would come to $12.75 per month per resident or a 10 year contract would come to $11.75 per month per resident. The council will provide an answer within the month. The council also discussed more econ friendly material for weed control and they approved moving forward with the museum project. They also tabled an item regarding hunting land.
The council approved the final payment to Haas for the Begley Street project. However, there is a manhole they’re keeping an eye on and they will have Haas come back to repair it if it ends up leaking. They council also approved a resolution regarding their TIF District and another proposal with a development company and investment group was tabled for the time being. The council also approved reaching out to state representatives to push forward the Highway 73 project.
