Neillsville School Board Approves A Few Items Before Monday's Annual Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board held a regular board meeting before the Annual meeting on Monday.The board approved a donation of a backpack with supplies from the Zion Lutheran Church in Pine Valley and they approved a donation of backpacks from Cummins in Neillsville. The board also heard the Seclusion and Restraint Report for the previous school year. The district is required to provide this report by law. The district had two instances of seclusion last year and 4 instances of needing the use of restraints. The report is broken down further by gender, race, grade and if the student was identified as a special needs student. The board also heard the Safety Drill Report. This report shows what kind of safety drill was performed, either fire, lockdown and secure or tornado, and when the district performed it.
In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Shannon Pavlac and Melissa Grambsch from their teaching assistant positions. The board also approved the hiring of Janet Meredith for a dishwashing position. Finally, the board heard the Administrators’ Reports. District Administrator John Gaier reported on updates for managing the school social media sites, a Homelessness in Clark County event on September 9th, a rural central Wisconsin opioid response program, an update on required state testing, considerations for replacing kitchen equipment, discussed number of coaches needed and shared a copy of the teacher in-service schedule.
