(WDLB) -Marshfield Aldermen are extending one-way traffic on East Second Street in the city's downtown. With Alderman Jason Zaleski absent, the Marshfield Common Council voted 8-to-1 last night in favor of extending one-way traffic on East 2nd by one block, between Maple and Cedar Avenues, past the new library and 2nd Street Community and Senior Center. The Council also signed off on a recommendation from the city's Board of Public Works to experiment with angled parking. Alderman Tom Witzel voted against the plan.
Alderman Mike Feirer said the additional parking is needed for what has become a very busy Senior Center during the day, with limited parking close to the door. The Council agreed to implement the additional one-way direction on a trial basis this fall. 2nd is already a one-way street from Central to Maple.
