(WDLB) -Attendance was up at this year's Central Wisconsin State Fair. That's what Executive Director Dale Christiansen told the Marshfield Common Council last night.Christiansen also said the two monster truck shows last Saturday "were pretty much sellouts". There were also huge crowds for Smash Mouth last Friday night as well. Police Chief Rick Gramza also told the Council the new open carry policy for alcohol was very well received, and there were no problems during the six-day event that ended Sunday.
Those attending the fair were allowed to carry alcoholic beverages outside the areas where they were sold. Wristbands were used by bartenders to identify those eligible to carry open containers.
