Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

-The Granton Village Board heard the Waste Water Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, they painted picnic tables in the campground, cleaned out the lift station basket, attended the Northwoods Collection Seminar in Marshfield, discharged for 1.5 weeks to drop the level in pond 3, put sand around the playground equipment, they repaired signs in the ball field, they worked with Scotts Construction and Supreme Sweeping on road repairs, they ordered a new culvert for the alley behind the hardware store, they had L & R complete the semi-annual test of the big water meters and it was mentioned that they need to order a new fire hydrant meter with an estimated cost of 800. The board also heard the Treasurer’s Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The checking balance is $126,356.76, the Money Market balance is $441,118.36, the Cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $57,422.74 and the Library Balance is $31,581.11.
Finally, the board heard updates from the Village Clerk. She sent out 30 utility late notices, received a park donation for $50 from the Kirk/Jennings family. A thank you note was sent on behalf of the board. She set up and completed interviews for the library position and offered the job to Matthew Tarlecki and he accepted. She set up an onboarding meeting with the library director and the new library employee. Matthews first day on the job was Wednesday July 24th. Finally, she completed and submitted the recycling grant and received information from the Department of Labor regarding overtime rules. This information was passed out to the board and staff.
