Dental Clinic of Marshfield Celebrates 50 Years

-The Dental Clinic of Marshfield, one of the oldest group dental practices in Wisconsin, marked its 50th year of service to residents of Marshfield and surrounding communities on July 7th with an employee picnic at Wildwood Pavilion.What began as a vision of three independent dentists in 1969 has become a leading regional dental clinic in Central Wisconsin with 13 dentists and 85 staff members. The Dental Clinic of Marshfield provides a broad range of dental services including cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges, dental implants, dentures, emergency dental care, family dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, sleep apnea treatment, TMJ treatment, root canals and more. The Dental Clinic of Marshfield was formed 50 years ago by three independent dentists. In the late 1960s, group dental practices were considered unethical by the Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Dental Association. However, the three founders persevered and legally obtained the right to call themselves a group practice.
They purchased land and constructed a clinic on the north side of Marshfield on McMillan Street, which was just a dirt road at that time. Soon after opening their doors, Dr. Jerome Hagman and Dr. Clarence Topp joined the dental staff. The Dental Clinic of Marshfield has enjoyed steady, stable growth during the past 50 years with multiple expansions to the staff and the original building.
