Monday, August 19th, 2019 -- 10:44 AM
-This Saturday, August 24th, between approximately 8:00AM and 12:00 PM, local responders in cooperation with Cummins Filtration and Marshfield Medical Center- Neillsville will be conducting an emergency response training exercise.According to the Clark County Emergency Management Department, the exercise will simulate a mass casualty incident caused by a structural collapse. This exercise will involve local Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Medical Services assessing their plans and procedures for elements such as scene security, pre-hospital triage and medical care and search and rescue among others. There will be increased traffic of emergency vehicles in the areas of the Industrial Park and MMC-Neillsville. These vehicles will not be operating in emergency mode as part of the exercise. They ask motorists to avoid any unnecessary travel in those areas during the exercise. Lifelink III helicopter has also been invited to participate and they are planning for them to arrive and land their helicopter in the area of the exercise.
They want to make residents near the facilities and along the routes of travel are aware of the exercise to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience and assure them that the activity they may observe during the exercise is only a simulation and there is not a real emergency taking place. Everyone’s patience during the training is greatly appreciated as they work to maximize the response efforts of our local providers.
