-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution creating a non-lapsing fund for DATCP retail food and recreational programs. The fund was created due to a resolution that was passed earlier this year that saw the Clark County Health Department become an agent of DATCP, which will allow them to perform local check of food and retail establishments. This fund will be used for that program. The board also approved a resolution authorizing the county’s participation in county conservation aids program for the fish and wildlife project. The board also approved the first reading of an updates ordinance that deals with law enforcement provisions, more specifically, hiring and discipline, providing mutual aid, and other items. Another ordinance regarding manure storage was postponed until the next meeting. This ordinance discusses proper manure storage and making sure state and federal laws are being followed.
There was one resolution that didn’t pass at the meeting last week. This resolution would have shown the county supports the Neillsville Improvement Corporation’s Rails-to-Trails Project, which involves the building of a non-motorized bike trail from Neillsville to Chili. With one member absent and another abstaining, the resolution was defeated with 15 voting not and 12 voting yes. The City of Neillsville and Village of Granton have passed resolutions supporting this project. The Village of Chili also supports the project.
