Public Works Report and Report of Officer's at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and park maintenance, equipment maintenance, preparing ball fields, mowing, trimming and weeding, trimming and pruning trees, maintain street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, street sweeping and more. They are also continuing to finish up work by the new bathrooms in Schuster Park and they cleaned up storm damage several times. They removed some banners that had been damaged by the wind, sent out notices to some owners whose sidewalks have presented as tripping hazards. They also removed the fountain as it was damaged by high water and they’re waiting on the part. It was also mentioned that the equipment maintenance line of the public works budget is in distress. Finally, they did some ATV sign maintenance, continued work on street construction and hydrants were flushed throughout the city.
The council also heard the Report of Officers. For the month of July, the department had 141 complaints, 83 service calls, 48 traffic citations, 74 traffic warnings, 7 crash investigations, 10 ordinance citations, 17 adult arrests, 3 cases referred to the district attorney, 6 juvenile cases and 46 parking citations. Finally, some other items mentioned included the Emerald Ash Boarer, an Economic Development Board meeting, MMC-Neillsville’s groundbreaking and a feasibility study.
