Granton Village Board Hears Update on Business and Residential Sidewalks
Friday, August 16th, 2019 -- 12:41 PM
-The Granton Village Board heard an update on the business and residential sidewalks at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the village set up an appointment in the Spring with DBA to get a quote to repair sidewalks in the Village. DBA sent a rep to the Village in July. The rep spent the day taking measurements and notes. The rep tried to give the village a quote but decided to come back in 3 weeks with a more experienced rep as the quote was $26,000 for one section of a block. DBA called the day before the scheduled meeting to advise the village was too far away and they could not give a quote. The village decided to simply continue with the TID project set in motion last year. The village is budgeting $5,000 per year to assist residents in up to 50% assistance. The clerk will outline project again in the next newsletter as there has been only 1 application received. The application submitted was for $1,650. Proof of payment was also submitted.
The board also heard a campground and park update. The board discussed the Xcel project to move the power/transformer from the driveway entrance to the east end of the pavilion. This will allow the electrician to rewire the pavilion so the breakers do not overload when roasters are plugged in and will allow the Village to run electricity to the campground down the road. The cost to move the transformer is no more than $6,000.
