Administrators' Reports at Granton School Board Meeting

-The Granton School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.Principal Amanda Kraus discussed the growth of the band program and whether or not the district will continue to purchase the instruments. The yearly repair for Granton for instruments comes to $861.46 with the average cost coming to $80 for full repair per instrument. For the purchase of instruments, at a garage sale or on eBay you can find a trumpet for $200 or a sax for $400. New instruments purchased in the store sees the cost increase to $400 or $1,000 for the same instruments respectively. With the growth in numbers comes the need for students to either purchase themselves or Granton to continue to purchase instruments. Current numbers have over 3/4th of the band using Granton instruments. They have almost all Granton instruments loaned out to students.
She also reported on some administrative professional development, which includes things like Impactful Coaching Conference and an LPLC Conference. She continues to grow as a coach and her ability to work with teachers toward personal betterment. Finally, Superintendent Scott Woodington reported on the preliminary 2019-20 budget.
