(WDLB) -Marshfield parents will be charged a minimal processing fee when making online payments through the Marshfield School District. The Board of Education last night signed off on adding a one-dollar flat-rate fee to all online payments. Board member Dale Yakaites said parents would still save time and money in the long run. Dorothy Chaney was a "yes" vote. She told fellow board member Sam Steiner the one-dollar fee is charged one time per transaction, so the more payments parents can make in one online visit, the more money they can save.
The fee was approved on a unanimous 6-0 vote, with Board member Mark Konrardy absent. In other action, the Board approved a new four-year-old kindergarten unit at Lincoln Elementary. That will be a morning-only session. The Board voted back in April to add two 4-K sections at Madison Elementary this fall. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Christianson said at that time enrollment figures for this fall were running at a more than two-to-one margin in favor of morning sessions versus the afternoon.
