Marshfield Athletic Fields Nearing Completion

(WDLB) -Marshfield's new combination football, soccer and track-and-field stadium is near completion.That's what the Marshfield Board of Education found out during its monthly meeting last night. Board member Dale Yakaites told his colleagues the stadium is on schedule to open with a soccer/football doubleheader on Friday, August 30th--with soccer at 4:30 and football at 7:30. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new stadium is currently scheduled for September 27th at 6:00 p.m. to coincide with the Tiger Homecoming game scheduled for that evening.
As for the new baseball and softball fields adjacent to the neighboring Tiny Tiger Center and Madison Elementary, Yakaites said work on those facilities is running a bit behind schedule because of rainy weather in July. Renovations to Beell Stadium at the Marshfield Middle School property were deliberately delayed in case it was needed in the event the new stadium opening was delayed in any way.
