Greenwood School Board Approves Employment Matters

-The Greenwood School Board approved some employment matters at their meeting on Monday.

The board accepted the resignation of Kristin Volvosek as a Special Education Assistant and Karla Vinci as a School Counselor. They approved the employment of Taylor Kysely as a Science teacher, Mary Krause as an Art teacher, Chris Ghess as the JV Girls Basketball coach, Amy Yurkovich as the JV Volleyball coach and Jenni Mayenschein and Marixa La Mont as co-advisors for Student Council. During the appearances portion of the meeting, a community member suggested the district look to partner with neighboring school districts more. The board also approved a 403B Match and Vesting plan. The plan includes a one-time contribution based on employee longevity. The goal is to have the plan implemented by October 1st of this year.

The board also received some staffing updates. There is one professional staff position yet to fill, the School Counselor, and the middle school positon will be absorbed using existing staff. There are several support staff positions to fill and interviews for those positions will start this week. The board also approved the budget transfers for 2018-19 and approved the continuation of the agreement with Clark County Adult Development Services for vacuuming and dishwashing services at the elementary school at the coast of $92 per day.
