Wisconsin Department of Corrections Lacking in Funding

(WRN) -The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has received only 21 cents for every dollar in funding requested for facilities over the past decade.That's according to a report by the nonpartisan Wisconsin Policy Forum. It found the share of Corrections projects approved for funding from 2007 to 2017 was the lowest of seven state agencies that had the biggest requests for major building projects.
The state approved a dollar for every dollar requested by the Department of Natural Resources, not counting money borrowed for land acquisition through the stewardship program, and about 89 cents for every dollar requested by the UW System.
