Man Found Guilty for High Speed Chase in Marshfield

-A man involved in a high speed chase in Marshfield appeared in Wood County Court on Friday.According to the Marshfield Police Department, back in March of thisyear, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop for a red light at Doege St and N Central Ave. Upon initiating the traffic stop, the suspect vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed turning North on N Walnut Ave, failing to stop for an additional stop sign at W Ives St and N Walnut Ave, and failed to stop at the T-intersection at W Upham and N Walnut. The vehicle hit an embankment and crashed, rolling onto its roof. The driver fled on foot and the passenger was taken into custody after refusing medical treatment.
The passenger was later released with no charges. The driver, Brandon S Shaw, turned himself in to Marshfield Police a few days later and was later transported to Wood County Jail. He’s being charged with vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer and obstructing an officer. During plea hearing on Friday, he was found guilty, to due a no contest plea to both charges. As of this morning, no future court date was set.
