Entry Deadline for Clark County Fair Chocolate Dessert Contest This Week

Do you have a great chocolate dessert recipe? If so you should consider entering in the annual Chocolate Dessert Contest taking place on Saturday, August 10 at the Clark County Fair.Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and judging will begin at 9:30 a.m. No entry fee but
pre-registration is required. There are two divisions: youth ages 8 to 18 and adult ages 19 and older and each division is limited to 20 participants. The requirements and guidelines include the contest is open to any individual with one entry per person; the entry must be from “scratch,” so no mixes; the recipe must contain two dairy products and a generous portion of chocolate of any type; the recipe must be submitted with entry on day of event and must list the ingredients, preparation instructions, highlight/circle dairy ingredients and chocolate ingredients; the recipe must be printed on one side of paper and not double sided; and the name, address, and phone number of participant must be printed on the back side of paper.
Also, the judges will base their decision on the following criteria including flavor at 30 points, overall appearance at 25 points, creativity with the appearance and ingredients and more at 20 points, moistness and crumb texture at 15 points and consistency including size and shape at 10 points. There are cash prizes of $25 / $15 / $10 for both divisions.
