Saturday, July 27th, 2019 -- 8:13 AM
The Highground’s Annual Bike Tour and Heroes Ride is underway right now.The Heroes Ride has veteran Tom Kingsbury bicycling over 1,700 miles around the State of Wisconsin, making multiple stops and raising awareness and bring helpful info to veterans and families regarding PTSD and Veteran Suicide. As Tom nears the end of his trip, he will be arriving in Loyal on Tuesday, July 30th at Noon. The Highground will be welcoming Tom at the Veterans Flagpole area in the West Side Community Park in Loyal on Hwy 98. At this point, Tom will have already biked over 2/3 of the miles, and will be on his 11th day of his 16 day, very memorable, journey throughout Wisconsin. Throughout his journey around Wisconsin, Tom and crew have also been delivering information and encouraging people to visit and explore the Clark County area. It's been a great outreach mission.
The Highground is asking everyone to make a point of being present on Tuesday, July 30th at Noon in the Community Park in Loyal to welcome Tom briefly back home to Loyal and give him encouragement to continue the Heroes Ride! Bring your flags & cowbells.
Also, The Highground’s Bike Tour, celebrating its 35th year, will be ending Sunday, August 4th. The bike riders on the various routes, including Heroes Rider Tom Kingsbury, will all be converging at The Highground.
Veteran supporters should meet at The Highground on Sunday, August 4th at 11am to welcome the riders from across Wisconsin to The Highground. They have prepared all year and rode hundreds of miles to raise money for veterans programs at The Highground.
The Highground asks that you come on Sunday, August 4th around 11am and make some noise as we celebrate the riders as they end their journey at The Highground.
