Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, preparing ball fields, trimming and pruning trees, mowing, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, street sweeping and more. It was also mentioned that the new bathroom in Schuster Park is, for the most part, complete and operational. The department also assisted with Heritage Days clean up and the cleaned up the damage from last weekend’s storms. The decorative polls for the park have also been ordered and the department worked on sign maintenance for ATVs.
The Sewer Department completed the installation of a new sewer main and they had to deal with several sewer backups during the storms. They are about 50% complete with the construction of Willow Street and it was also mentioned that the Water Department will be flushing water mains from August 5th-16th.
