Big Boy visits Merrillan

The Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest steam locomotive made a stop in Merrillan today.The locomotive was restored by Union Pacific and is on a journey across the Midwest as part of Union Pacific’s 150th anniversary celebration of the transcontinental railroad. According to Union Pacific’s website, “The Big Boy’s return to the rails is the product of more than two years of meticulous restoration work by the Union Pacific Steam Team. No. 4014 is the world's only operating Big Boy locomotive.”
