GRANTON, LOYAL BOARDS TO STUDY CONSOLIDATION
Friday, February 4th, 2005 -- 2:03 PM
Loyal hosted a meeting with the Granton School District on Monday night.Granton Superintendent Jerry Nelson told WCCN that no action was taken at the meeting; however, the boards decided to look into the cost of conducting an in-depth study of what consolidation between the two districts would look like.
Granton had hoped Loyal might be interested in sports partnerships ? especially since Neillsville dropped their coops with them a couple years ago. The idea of a football coop appears to be a non-starter as it would bump Loyal to the Large Cloverbelt Conference.
Next week, all eyes will be on Greenwood. They will be holding a joint meeting with the Loyal school board on Monday night, and then on Wednesday night, they will hold what will likely be an important school board meeting where they may make some big decisions about their future.
