SPENCER SCHOOL DISTRICT TO VOTE ON REFERENDUM
Friday, February 4th, 2005 -- 2:01 PM
The Spencer school board unanimously decided to send a six year $425,000 budget override to district voters at a meeting this week. The referendum will be before voters on April 5th. Spencer is one of the many districts struggling with declining enrollments and decreased state aid. If the referendum passes, it?s estimated property tax rates would jump by 70-cents in the district next year. Spencer is projecting a $500,000 budget deficit for the 2005-2006 school year.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
