Big Event Happening in Black River Falls this Weekend

-The Black River Falls Chamber of Commerce has big event coming up this weekend.I spoke with Amanda Gunn, the Executive Director of the Black River Chamber of Commerce and she talked about the Karner Blue Butterfly Festival happening on Saturday.
"This weekend is the Big Karner Blue Butterfly Festival here in downtown Black River Falls. There's a whole bunch of things going on. It's a full day of activities. It kicks off in the morning with our Karner Blue 5K/10K/Half Marathon Races. The Half Marathon starts at 7am and the 5K/10K start at 8am. And then there's also a kids race that'll be happening at 9am and the kids race is free for any kids 10 and under. And we will take registration up to a half hour before the start of each race."
"But then after that, there's a pancake breakfast going on at our local Catholic Church. And then downtown, there's going to be craft vendors, art, food vendors. A whole day of family fun. There's mini-golf going on inside our library. There's the Miss Karner Blue Princess coronation happening, a pedal pull and kids land all day, beer tent with music from Noon-4pm featuring the band Toner. And then from 5pm-9pm the band Country Line. There's also a large car show happening from 10am-3pm and then there's also a parade going on right down our Main Street at 4pm."
"So a lot of different things happening right in our downtown this weekend on Saturday."
That’s not the only thing happening in Black River Falls this weekend.
"And on top of that, there's also the big 25th Annual Foundation Quarter Horse Registry World Roundup Show happening at our fairgrounds. And that happens Friday through Sunday and that's open to any spectators that would like to go up there and take a peek at the horses that are in the contest."
She also mentioned the next big event coming up.
"There other big event coming up in a couple weeks is the Jackson County Fair at our fairgrounds. That's a whole big event going on in itself. The carnival, the animals, they're having a lot of different music and groups up there. And tons of different activities going on throughout the fair too. And that will be taking place July 31st up through August 4th."
Finally, Amanda mentioned how you can stay informed on what’s happening in the Black River Falls area.
"They can go right to our website, and that's blackrivercountry.net, and under the community tab, there's a calendar of events and we keep that updated daily. So anything going on in our area, we have on our calendar."
Once again, the Karner Blue Butterfly Festival is happening this Saturday in Black River Falls.
