-The Owen-Withee School Board heard an update on the summer projects at their meeting on Monday.District Administrator Bob Houts reported that now that summer school is over, the summer projects can be tackled. The painting of the lights poles and doors has been completed by Harms Painting. The elementary gym ceiling repair, the kitchen ceiling replacement and the window replacements will be done this week. The repair and resealing of the parking lots should be completed in the next couple weeks and the flooring in the classrooms in the elementary is moving along well. These projects should be completed by the end of July. The board also approved the district’s membership in the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. The board reviews its membership in the WASB. This year’s dues are $2,830.
The dues include legal services, board development opportunities and policy guidance. The board unanimously approved renewing membership. Finally, the board approved some budget transfers. Mr. Houts reviewed two funds that typically need transfers from the general operating fund to make them balance for the end of the year. Special ed had a short fall of $63,117.76. The approval would make a transfer from that Fund to Fund 27, which has $413,117.76. Food Service had a surplus of $4751.50, so no transfer was necessary.
