Neillsville's Berry Participates In USA Cycling Midwest Regional Mountain Bike Championships

This past weekend, Isaiah Berry of Neillsville, currently an Elite rider on the ASU Junior Development Team, participated in the USA Cycling Midwest Regional Mountain Bike Championships part of the Wisconsin Off Road Series Cup at Alpine Valley Resort.At this race, all Cat 1 Juniors are required to race in the Cat 1 Juniors race and cannot race the Elite Category.
For the Cross Country (XC) race on Saturday, Isaiah finished 7th out of 15 riders in the 15-16 age group and 14th out of 32 overall Cat 1 Junior ages 15 to 18. This race included 3 laps of approximately 4 miles long with approximately 575 feet of climbing per lap.
On Sunday, Isaiah participated in the Short Track Cross Country (STXC) race. Also known as the hurricane of pain. The race consisted of 6 laps of .82 miles per lap. In the Cat 1 race Isaiah finished 6th out of 14 riders aged 15-18 and 9th out of 22 riders aged 15-29.
Isiah will be participating in the USA Mountain Bike Nationals at Winter Park, Colorado at the end of the month. On Friday, July 27 he will be on racing in the Junior Cat 1 15-16 cross country race. There will be over 100 riders in this race. On Sunday July 29, he will be racing in the Junior Cat 15-16 short track race. There will be over 50 riders in this race.
