CHIPPEWA CO. HUMANE SOCIETY FIRE INVESTIGATED
Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 -- 8:01 AM
Investigators were still trying to figure out what caused a fire at an animal shelter in Chippewa County late Monday night. Twelve dogs were rescued, but dozens of animals were lost in the blaze. A sherrif's deputy spotted smoke around 11 p.m. and called for help. By the time firefighters arrived, most of the building was engulfed. The Chippewa County Humane Society was supposed to open a new building this spring, but the fire has pushed the date up.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
