-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, preparing ball fields, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, hauling brush and compost, filling pot holes, street sweeping, opening storm drains and more. The new bathroom project is progressing nicely and the Sewer Department did some lift station maintenance. Also, they will start installing new manholes and a sewer main on Willow to 6th and 7th Streets.
They did a tree inspection with the contractor who planted trees last year and they’ll be replacing some of the trees that didn’t do well over the winter. They also put up the new ATV signs and removed the old ones. They also started the street construction and they’ll be replacing some bad spots on other streets. Finally, they will be replacing 100 feet of curb and gutter in front of Unity bank as the curb is a tripping hazard.
