WOOD COUNTY RESIDENTS UPSET WITH SEPTIC CHARGES
Thursday, January 20th, 2005 -- 9:18 AM
Some Wood County residents are crying foul over charges associated with the monitoring of their private septic systems. On Tuesday, the Wood County Board approved the $25 fee that private septic system owners have to pay every three years to have the county monitor their systems. With around 12,000 residents, the fee is projected to raise $90,000 per year. The state requires all private sewage systems be inspected or pumped at least once every three years. Any pumping must be reported to the state within 30 days.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
