THORP BUSINESS TO BENEFIT FROM GRANT

Good economic news for northern Clark County. Governor Jim Doyle announced yesterday that Birchwood Lumber and Veneer in Thorp is receiving a $250,000 Agricultural Development Zone tax credit from the Department of Commerce. The money will help Birchwood purchase and equip a facility in Thorp. Birchwood Lumber and Veneer is the largest producer of commercial and architectectural hardwood door coverings in the United States. The project will create 100 jobs and retain 230 jobs and the total project will cost around $1-million.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
