Neillsville Schools Achievement Gap and Administrator's Report

Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 -- 9:11 AM

The Neillsville School Board heard the Achievement Gap and Administrator’s Reports at their meeting on Monday.

The objective of the Achievement Gap Reduction Program is to increase the reading and math abilities of students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The growth of the student is measured by how many levels they increase and whether they meet or exceed certain benchmarks or pass certain percentiles. Each grade level has a slightly different form of measurement. Neillsville’s students in the K5-3rd grade scored very well with the 50%-80% of the students scoring above the various benchmarks.

District Administrator John Gaier reported on a letter from Governor Evers, two thank you cards, letters of concern from parents and the junior class regarding the laude system, a letter of concern from parents about school safety, and the district emergency response plan policy regarding a threatening person inside the building.
