Wood County Sheriff's Deputy Shot

-A Wood County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot yesterday evening.According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday around 7:30pm, the Wood County Dispatch Center received a call for a welfare check on a suicidal subject in the township of Arpin. During the welfare check and the investigation that ensued, an officer was shot. That officer was airlifted to a local hospital. The Sheriff’s Department wants the public to know that this was an isolated incident and that the public was not in any danger at this time.
The status of the deputy and the victim is unknown at this time. This is an ongoing investigation and the Sheriff’s Department will update the media when they have more information. At this time they have no further information.
