Employment Matters at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board accepted the resignations of Keisha Holland from her 2nd Grade teaching position, Katelyn Hass from her 1st Grade teaching position, Alex Saager from his Art teaching position, Carey Petri as the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach and Amanda Schlough from her Head Track coach position. The board also approved the retirement of Margo Johnson from her Special Education teaching position and they approved 12 volunteers. During the public appearances portion of the meeting, a community member suggested the district look at the Babel language program and look to partner with neighboring school districts more. Also, a parent expressed concern with reports of middle school students “vaping” and concerns about the participation level in FFA.
The board also received a report in the 2018-19 Supplemental Compensation Program participation and approved the 2019-2020 New Teacher/Mentor Handbook. The board also reviewed a 403B Match and Vesting plan. They may take action on that at the July meeting. Finally, the board received a staffing update. Open teaching positions have been posted and many interviews have been conducted.
