Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 -- 7:42 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -If you are a horse enthusiast and have a desire to own part of the wild frontier, you may want to be in Marshfield this weekend.

The Bureau of Land Management will be conducting a Wild Horse and Burro Adoption at the Central Wisconsin State Fair Grounds on June 14-15. Organizers say a time of preview will be held Friday morning, with adoptions being accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The adoption works on a first come, first serve basis. No oral bids will be accepted. According to the BLM website, the program will be adopting out four horses that were captured in Arizona, Nevada and Wyoming.

Meanwhile, trainer T. J. Clibborn will be on hand both days offering free clinics. The agency has placed more than 235,000 wild horses and burros into private care since 1971. For more information or to apply for the adoption process, call the BLM's office at 866-468-7826.
