Average Price For Corn Is Down

The average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin during the month of April was $3.46 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report.

That was down eight-cents from March and six-cents lower than last year. Soybeans averaged $8.23 per bushel, down 38-cents for the month and $1.54 for the year. Oat prices were $3.40 per bushel, 48-cents above the March price and 16-cents more that the previous April. All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $177.00 per ton in April, down $14.00 from the month previous, but $24.00 above April 2018.

The alfalfa hay price averaged $183.00 per ton, $20.00 less than March, but $18.00 above last April. The other hay price averaged $160.00, up $8.00 for the month and $40.00 more for the year.
