Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

-The Granton Village Board heard the Water and Sewer Report at their meeting on Monday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the mower PTO quit working and attempts to repair it failed, so the mower was taken to Tractor Central. Clean up in the cemetery and park continues. A hitching post was installed in the parking lot of the park to encourage the Amish to stop utilizing the ball park fence or the pavilion. A new Septic Meter was installed. The village will continue the chip sealing project from last year and Scott Construction stopped in to confirm the village is still on board for phase 2 of asphalt patching and sealing. The board had budget concerns with the purchase of the backhoe, but if we have a mild winter the village should be able to stay within budget. The board approved to proceed with phase 2 for $23,973. The board heard the Clerk’s Report. The new Personal Property Value Report due by June 3rd was completed and submitted. This required information from the 2017 tax reports and the assessor was instrumental in working through this report.
Liquor license applications were received and the legal notification advising applicants ran in the paper and no formal complaints were submitted. The Village was required to submit a sanitation permit to the Department of Ag for the Park View Campground. This was filed and accepted. Finally, she mentioned the village’s new website is live and you can check it out at VillageofGranton.com. Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The previous balance in checking was $132,434.47. June statements have not yet been released but checking balance the day of the meeting was $107,935.62. The money market balance was $439,101.05 and is currently at $439,620.75. The cemetery CD is $16,927.29.
