Owen City Council Hears Community Development Authority's Report

-The Owen City Council heard the Community Development Authority’s Report at their meeting last week.Director Tim Swiggum reported Heartland’s rail spur will begin construction soon as the steel is delivered. Tim’s working with Plains Gas and Quality Roasting to complete their rail spur agreement. Growin’ Owen is planting Marigolds on the Yellowstone Trail along 5th Street. Tim attended the Clark County Economic Development Committee meeting. The site of the 2022 Farm Progress Days has yet to be determined. They are still making a push to get the Farm Progress Days in Owen.
Tim also met with the United Communities Committee. Advanced Disposal has been sold to Waste Management. If they uphold our original contract, all should remain the same. It will not be a problem to get financing below 5% for the Street Renovation project voted on at the last meeting. Audit numbers will be needed before they can move forward.
