Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, park/cemetery/ball field preparations, a new floor for the south bathroom in Schuster Park, hung flower baskets, trimming and pruning trees, removed some dead trees, maintaining street lighting, street sweeping, opening storm drains, hauling brush and compost, filling pot holes, road repairs and more. They also repaired a leak, did some lift station maintenance and cleaned out some ditches. It was also mentioned at the meeting that Clark County’s communities have signed another 3-year garbage pickup contract with Advance Disposal. However, it was stated that Advanced may be purchased by another company.
Finally, the council heard the Library Board Meeting Report from May 21st. The board heard the Librarian’s Reports. They also approved the librarians to attend a conference. They denied a Kids Zumba Class in the basement because of liability issues. They also approved a bid to fix an air conditioning unit and discussed a loitering incident. The board also heard about some summer activities.
