Saturday, June 1st, 2019 -- 6:40 AM
The Neillsville City Council heard the various committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday. The council heard the Beautification Committee Report from May 15th. The committee approved replacing some banners. They’ll be holding a contest asking for submissions for the banners for the City of Neillsville. The winners will be announced during Heritage Days. Flowers were also delivered and planted and they have put up the different pots and baskets. They’ll be asking for donations for those flowers and they have a weeding schedule set.
The council also heard the Board of Review Report from May 20th. The purpose of the review is to examine the 2019 Assessment Roll for errors and to hear any objections on assessments. An assessor stated the city is really close to the 90% level required by the state. The city will also, probably, be out of compliance again for Residential Class. If that’s the case, the city will up for reevaluation in 2021.
