Neillsville Boys Are Regional Champs

The Neillsville boys baseball won a Regional Championship on Wednesday with a 9-3 win over Osseo-Fairchild at Merchant Field.Osseo-Fairchild took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Shaun Windhorst. Neillsville then scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning on 4 Thunder errors. Osseo-Fairchild would a run in the 3rd to make it 3-2 but that's as close as they would get.
Neillsville would score 2 runs in the 5th and 4 more in the sixth for the decisive win.
Osseo-Fairchild finished the game with 8 errors. Braden Trunkel finished as the leading hitter for Neillsville going 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.
Neillsville, now 15-7 and winners of 11 of their 12 will travel to Casper Park in Chippewa Falls for the Sectional Semi-Final on Tuesday at 1 pm against the winner of Regis vs. Boyceville. They are going to play their Regional Final on Thursday.
