Friday, November 27th, 2020 -- 9:55 AM
The Loyal School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their recent meeting.
High School Principal Doug Dieckmans reported that the no student days, or STARR days, for the virtual students went well. The fall sports seasons are done and the Veteran’s Day program went very well. Also, the new Smoothwall monitoring system has been installed and there have been some issues with students which have been dealt with. Finally, he stated the first quarter has ended and the student’s grades were very good. District Administrator Chris Lindner reported that he’s recommending an increase in compensation for LEG, Curriculum, and Extra Duty to go off of an hourly rate based on the district’s base salary, which is $36,727. When approved, this will take effect on July 1st of 2021 for the 2021-22 school year as this was not budgeted in this year’s budget.
If teachers decide to do curriculum work in June of 2021, they can have it approved by their building principal and they’ll receive the new amount. He also stated that Parent/Teacher conferences on Tuesday, November 17 went well, the City of Loyal has approved the FEMA Grant application process and he mentioned several meetings were scheduled. He also took a moment to thank all of the staff for all the extra time and effort they have put forth to keep the school open and running safely for all the students in the district. He said they couldn’t do it without all of them.
