ARPIN DAIRY TO REOPEN
Wednesday, December 29th, 2004 -- 11:28 AM
The area economy?s going to get a nice shot in the arm. After three years standing unused, operations at the Arpin dairy plant will start again. It could mean as many as 250 jobs to the area by 2007. New Jersey-based American Casein Company signed a 20-year lease for the plant about a week ago with the option to buy in the first year. It will be the company?s third plant; they have facilities in New Jersey and Maryland. The Marshfield News Herald reports today the company is moving equipment to the plant, and is bringing in a number of Polish workers to reassemble plant machinery and train local workers. The plant will eventually operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Geiger said. It will initially hire between 25 and 30 employees.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
