-The Granton School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Superintendent Scott Woodington updated the board on instructional minutes. The district’s last student day is Friday June 7th and the students will be dismissed at noon. By adding the additional days in June and changing two professional development days to student days, the district has exceeded the minimum instructional time by fourteen hours. He also provided an update on the end of year budget. Without having any major unplanned expenditures, the district is continuing to have a balanced budget. He also explained the Civil Rights Data Collection. In the summer of 2018, the Office of Civil Rights in the Department of Education conducted the biennial Civil Rights Data Collection from local education agencies in Wisconsin.
In October 2017, OCR received Office of Management and Budget approval to require all LEAs in the country, including public school districts, charter schools, juvenile justice facilities, alternative schools, and schools serving only students with disabilities, to respond to the CRDC for the 2017-18 school year. Char Johnson did a great job gathering and submitting all of the data with the majority of help from Amanda Kraus. Finally, he mentioned the small rural schools co-op accepted the milk bid from Dean Foods.
