Man Arrested for High Speed Chase in Marshfield Appears in Wood County Court

-A man involved in a high speed chase in Marshfield appeared in Wood County Court on Wednesday.According to the Marshfield Police Department, on March 28th, around 9:30pm, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop for a red light at Doege St and N Central Ave. Upon initiating the traffic stop, the suspect vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed turning North on N Walnut Ave, failing to stop for an additional stop sign at W Ives St and N Walnut Ave, and failed to stop at the T-intersection at W Upham and N Walnut. The vehicle hit an embankment and crashed, rolling onto its roof. The Driver fled on foot and the passenger was taken into custody after refusing medical treatment.
The passenger was later released with no charges. The driver, 30-year-old Brandon S Shaw, turned himself in to Marshfield Police at 10am on March 29th and was later transported to Wood County Jail. He’s being charged with vehicle operator fleeing/eluding an officer and obstructing an officer. During his preliminary hearing on Wednesday, probable cause was found so his court proceedings will continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’s scheduled to be back in court on July 26th.
