(WDLB) -A Nekoosa woman has pleaded no contest in Wood County Circuit Court for the August 2017 death of Marshfield native Tyler Manthe.24-year-old Taylor Owczynsky was charged with two felony counts resulting from the accident. The two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 13 near Evergreen Avenue in the town of Saratoga. Investigators determined a southbound vehicle driven by Owczynsky crossed the center line, and hit Manthe’s northbound vehicle. Owczynsky had a blood-alcohol concentration of point-one-five, almost double the state limit. Manthe was airlifted to the Marshfield Medical Center with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead.
Owczynsky was found guilty and will be sentenced in July for homicide by use of a vehicle. The charge comes with a maximum sentence of 25 years and a 100-thousand dollar fine. A second charge, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, was dismissed.
