Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Two Fires Sunday Afternoon

-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a couple calls Sunday afternoon.The first was around 2:07pm. The department responded to a grass fire N2732 Clark Avenue in the Township of Pine Valley. The owner of the property had been burning around an old building when the fire got away from him. 1.5 acres were burned in the fire, there were no injuries, they received no mutual aid and the department was on scene for 45 minutes. The second call came in around 3:37pm. The department responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Highway 73 and County Road C north of Neillsville.
When the department arrived, they found a Ford pickup fully engulfed. The owner said he turned on to C from 73 and smelled gas. When he got out of the vehicle there was a fire under the truck. The vehicle is a total loss, there were no injuries, they received mutual aid from the Clark County Sheirff’s Department and they were on scene for 25 minutes.
