Clark County Humane Society Sponsoring Vaccination Clinic May 11th

Monday, April 29th, 2019 -- 10:45 AM

-Rabies is a highly infectious, deadly disease which presents a serious threat to domestic pets and to humans, if bitten by an infected animal.

Prevention of rabies in cats and dogs is possible by having your pet periodically vaccinated against rabies as required by state law. The Clark County Humane Society is sponsoring a Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The clinic will be held at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Neillsville from Noon until 2 pm. In addition to the rabies vaccine, DHLPP and CVRC (commonly called distemper) will be offered for dogs and cats. The Rabies, DHLPP, and CVRC vaccines will cost $15.00 each. Lyme’s Disease vaccine and Bordetella vaccine for dogs will also be available and will cost $20.00 and $10.00 each, respectively. Feline Leukemia vaccine for cats will be available for $15.00 each.

Also available at the Clinic will be microchipping. Microchipping is the best technology in pet identification. A microchip is a tiny transponder coded to display a unique identification number that can be read by a hand-held scanner. About the size of a grain of rice, the chip is implanted just under the surface of the skin in the animal’s shoulder area. If a pet should ever become lost, a scanner can read the chip’s identification number, and the pet’s information can then be retrieved. Microchipping is a fast, permanent method of ensuring that your pet will always have a way to be identified and returned to you. The cost will be $15 per pet for chipping and lifetime registration.

All proceeds will benefit the animals at the Clark County Humane Society. No appointment is necessary. Please bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier. CCHS reserves the right to refuse admission to a pet that is not under control. Remember to bring your pet’s previous vaccination records. Please take advantage of this once a year opportunity to keep your dog or cat healthy and safe.
