Man Arrested After High Speed Chase in Marshfield Sentenced in Wood County Court

-One of two people arrested after a high speed chase was sentenced in Wood County Court on Tuesday.According to the Marshfield Police Department, around 3:30pm on Monday, January 7th, they attempted to pull over a vehicle on the city’s south side. The vehicle sped up and led authorities on a chase through Wood County before it eventually ended in Clark County. Two people, Christopher Gaffney and Josie Lutz, both of Marshfield, were arrested. Officers found 33 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Gaffney pleaded guilty to possession with intent-amphetamine, possession of cocaine and vehicle operator flee/elude an officer. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison with 8 years of extended supervision. Lutz will be back in court in May.
